Join me for a week of yoga in the jungle! We will be staying at the beautiful Iguana Lodge & Spa, located on the Osa Peninsula. Described by National Geographic as "one of the most biologically intense places on earth", the peninsula offers the best of both worlds - lush tropical rainforest and beautiful wide beaches. I am so excited to visit this magical land and soak in the powerful energy of the virgin jungle and experience the wildlife that lives within it.
This special property is nestled in the jungle on a private 6-mile beach and boasts a lap pool, jacuzzi, spa, two gourmet restaurants, and a bar and two beautiful yoga decks.
The retreat includes two daily, outdoor yoga practices, morning practice on the ocean facing yoga deck and evening practice on the lofted treehouse-style deck nestled in the jungle . Morning practice will be a slow- flow vinyasa style, accompanied by the ocean waves. Evening practice will be yin/ restorative yoga accompanied by the sounds of the Costa Rican Rainforest. All levels are welcome and individual goals and needs will be addressed. We aim to give you both the rigor of our practices and teaching as well as the freedom to make this week exactly what you want and need from a vacation!
Also included in the retreat is a day trip to the Corcovado National Park (the “Jewel of Costa Rica”) considered one of the most spectacular national parks in the world. Located a few hours from Iguana Lodge, this is one of the largest primary rainforests in the world. And it became in a national park specifically to protect the nature of its 13 ecosystems. Here, we can find mangroves, palm groves and marshes. It’s the habitat of quetzal, tapir, “sapo flecha”, crocodile, puma and jaguar, as well as four species of sea turtles. I can not wait to explore this magical park with you! It is a big bucket list item for me.
All meals are included at the Iguana Lodge's incredible two restaurants, enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner made with the freshest ingredients that Costa Rica has to offer. Choose between two different lodging options - stay in a Chic Club Room, ocean or jungle view, king, queen or two twin beds, with lofted ceilings, frosted glass french doors and an individual outdoor balcony. For more of a jungle experience stay in a private Casita, with both jungle and ocean views, this secluded two story treehouse is an airy, large space with a queen and daybed, a luxurious private deck with hammocks and chairs, a large bathing area (with the option of a private outdoor jungle shower) and a relaxing reading nook with a private library.
Enjoy complimentary boogie boards and stand up paddle boards in the warm Pacific Ocean, take out a complementary kayak to explore the nearby reef, or head up the Platanares River and explore a gorgeous mangrove estuary.
There are some great surf spots for all levels on the Osa, including the Matapalo area and Pavones (2nd largest left hand wave in the world). Guided jungle hikes, horseback riding, zip lining, tree climbing and waterfall rappelling, bird and monkey watching with the Iguana Lodge in house naturalist, are just some of the many adventures the area has to offer.
